However , something like that attitude shown by some Muslims today , especially the rulers and the ' intellectuals ' to prevent other Muslims who demanded jihad against the U.S. and its allies are already more than two weeks to slaughter Muslims in Afghanistan .
In this regard, Allah. says :
They ask thee concerning fighting in the Prohibited Month. Say: "Fighting therein is a grave (offence); but graver is it in the sight of Allah to prevent access to the path of Allah, to deny Him, to prevent access to the Sacred Mosque, and drive out its members." Tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. Nor will they cease fighting you until they turn you back from your faith if they can. And if any of you Turn back from their faith and die in unbelief, their works will bear no fruit in this life and in the Hereafter; they will be companions of the Fire and will abide therein.
(QS al-Baqarah [2]: 217).
Allah teaches the attitude in responding to the fact that this is jihad sabilillah. Essence of the Mighty God says :
Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.

Straightening Meaning of Jihad
Although it has been so obvious hostility unbelievers , especially those represented by the U.S. and its allies against Islam and Muslims , the attitude of some Muslims even appear weak and cowardly . After being insulted Muslims with terrorists and at the same time stamp fought by those who disbelieve , they instead defend themselves and defend their dignity and honor .
Instead , they both hide behind the clothes or on behalf of Islamic organizations themselves as intellectuals / scholars intentionally or not , has been slipping in the action bandwagon manipulate the meaning of jihad . In fact , even with jihad , dignity and honor of Islam and Muslims can be maintained .
In this case , they seem very tekstualistik - literalistik , which interpret the word jihad just from the language perspective alone , not from a broader perspective , the Shari'a . With that , as if they were telling the truth . In fact , they said no one else 's argument ; does not also refer them to the opinion of the mujtahid jurists or scholars credible .
They say that Jihad is a broad meaning . Its essence is in earnest. In tough economic times such as now , the most fitting jihad is the jihad against poverty . Jihad with their respective capabilities . Do not die stupid . With sadistic , they even say that those who interpret jihad as war is short-sighted ! Good Heavens !
By stating so , without conscious people as it has been labeled the Prophet. and his companions were most of his life after receiving the message of Islam earnestly struggle and jihad propaganda sabilillah as narrow-minded people . Na'ûdzu billahi forbid ! .
In fact , to understate the meaning of jihad in the perspective of law , namely war to uphold the sentence of God , they questioned , " Why do jihad against the unbelievers who are " lesser jihad " ( jihad ashghar ) is exaggerated , while the jihad against the passions which are " greater jihad " ( jihad akbar ) is not taken into account? "

" We returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad . " The companions asked , " What is the greater jihad ? Apostle replied , " Jihad against the passions . "

explained that there is a so-called jihad fighting lust , demons fighting jihad and the wicked . However , this kind of jihad is not more important than the jihad fighting the infidels . In fact , on the contrary , jihad fighting the unbelievers shall remain until the Day of Judgment , as jihad against lust . On this basis , the notion that lust fight jihad in Allah swt . more important and bigger than the jihad fighting infidels is very wrong . Such opinion is absurd and dangerous as well as deadly conflict with the understanding of jihad ( war ) in the path of Allah . Therefore , the opinion of this kind should be rejected for two reasons :
First , jihad payload containing two meanings : the meaning of language and meaning of the Shari'a .

In language , in the Dictionary of al - Muhith , jihad means sincerity ( juhd ) , the ability to bear the burden ( thâqah ) , and difficulty ( masyaqah ) . Ar - Razi said , " mujahadah origin he is juhd ( hard work ) were significantly masyaqah ( trouble ) . "

There are many number of other texts that contain clear understanding about the fight against the infidels, the jihad in the sense of the Shari'a. Meanwhile, the implicit, but various indicators still show on the meaning of war, for example, are some of the following verses :
O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge indeed.

But the Messenger, and those who believe with him, strive and fight with their wealth and their persons: for them are (all) good things: and it is they who will prosper.
(QS at-Taubah [9]: 88).
Waghluzh phrase 'alaiyim and amwâlihim wa bi anfusihim an indication (qarinah) which indicates that the jihad is mentioned in paragraph Sharai it is jihad, the fight against the infidels.

Thus, if there are people who continue to manipulate the meaning of jihad at the same propagating jihad against the passions that are more urgent than combating jihad infidels, it means it has been stuck in the confines of one's own desires are reluctant to fight against the infidels. In fact, not Allah has said :
Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.
