Have you not seen that Allah drives along the clouds, then joins them together (parts of) it, then make it a mass, then you see the rain come out from their midst and Allah (also) lower (details) ice from the sky (ie, ) of (clumps of clouds like) mountains, and upon his (details) ice it to whom He wills, and he turned away from whom He wills. Flash of His lightning almost takes away the eyesight.

The thunder celebrates His praise and (so do) the angels for fear Him, and He sends the thunderbolts and smites with them whom He will, and they dispute concerning Allah, and He is the Lord of the Mighty his.

When 'Abdullah bin Az-Zubair heard thunder, he stops talking, then say,
"Subhanalladzi yusabbihur ro'du hamdihi wal mala bi-bonding min khiifatih"
(Glory be to God that the lightning and the angels praises him for fear of him).
Then he said, "This is a very strong threat to the population of a country."

Ibn Taymiyyah said, "In the hadith marfu '(to the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him) as of At-Tirmidhi and otherwise, the Prophet Muhammad was asked about the lightning, then he said:
"Lightning is the angel who is tasked with managing the cloud and the destroyer of fire clouds move in accordance with the will of God. '"
Lightning was created so that we always remember to God for all that He created the world. This is the warning of God in another form.
Similarly, when Ali was asked, as it is said in Makarimil Kharaithi Al-Akhlaq, he said, "Lightning is an angel, and his voice was the destroyer in his hand." And in another narration from Ali as well, "His voice is the destroyer of iron in his hand. "

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said again, "Ar ro'du is mashdar (verb dibendakan) comes from the word ro'ada, yar'udu, ro'dan (which means thunder, pen). ... Nothing they wait until Allah comes to angel (at last) in the shadow of the clouds with lawsuits. And to Allah all things return.
