AL MUMIITU - The Taker of Life, The Salyer

With power did We construct the heaven. Verily, We are Able to extend the vastness of space thereof.
And We have spread out the earth, how Excellent Spreader (thereof) are We!. 
And of everything We have created pairs, that you may remember (the Grace of Allah).

He (Al Mahdi) will not come, unless there is a sign of emerging from the sun.

[Ibn Hajar al-Haythami, Al-qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Address al-Mahdi al-Muntazar, p. 47]


The Mahdi will not come, unless the rising of the sun as a sign.

Al-Bukhari and Muslim narrated from Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu 'anhu that the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said:

لا تقوم الساعة حتى تطلع الشمس من مغربها, فإذا طلعت, فرآها الناس; آمنوا أجمعون, فذاك حين لا ينفع نفسا إيمانها لم تكن آمنت من قبل أو كسبت في إيمانها خيرا

"It is not erect the Day of Judgment until the sun rises from the west. When he had risen (from the west) and the man saw it, then believe in them all. That day is not beneficial faith in someone who did not believe before that day or not seek goodness in the faith ".

And it is He Who gives life and causes death, and His is the alternation of night and day. Will you not then understand?

From Abu Dharr radliyallaahu 'anhu: That the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam once said one day:

أتدرون أين تذهب هذه الشمس?. قالوا: الله ورسوله أعلم. قال: إن هذه تجري حتى تنتهي إلى مستقرها تحت العرش, فتخر ساجدة, فلا تزال كذلك, حتى يقال لها: ارتفعي, ارجعي من حيث جئت, فترجع فتصبح طالعة من مطلعها, ثم تجري حتى تنتهي إلى مستقرها تحت العرش, فتخر ساجدة, ولا تزال كذلك حتى يقال لها: ارتفعي ارجعي من حيث جئت, فترجع فتصبح طالعة من مطلعها, ثم تجري لا يستنكر الناس منها شيئا, حتى تنتهي إلى مستقرها ذاك تحت العرش, فيقال لها: ارتفعي, أصبحي طالعة من مغربك, فتصبح طالعة من مغربها. فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: أتدرون متى ذاكم?. ذاك حين لا ينفع نفسا إيمانها لم تكن آمنت من قبل أو كسبت في إيمانها خيرا.

"Do you know where to go in the sun?".
They (the Companions) said: "Allah and His Messenger know better".
He continued: "Indeed, the sun continues to run until stopped at a settlement under the Throne, and subject to prostrate (to Allah).

So Allah caused him to die for a hundred years, then raised him up (again). He said: "How long did you remain (dead)?" He (the man) said: "(Perhaps) I remained (dead) a day or part of a day". He said: "Nay, you have remained (dead) for a hundred years, look at your food and your drink, they show no change; and look at your donkey! And thus We have made of you a sign for the people. Look at the bones, how We bring them together and clothe them with flesh". When this was clearly shown to him, he said, "I know (now) that Allah is Able to do all things."

And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment).

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, the Prophet Muhammad SAW said : Verily ye settling time compared with the peoples who have passed is like the time between Asr prayer until sunset

The parable of the Muslims and Jews as well as Christians, as the parable of a man who hired one of the (Jewish) to do a job till night, but they do so only until noon. Then they said, "We do not need a wage that you promised us, and what we have done, everything for your".
He also said, "Do you do this, complete the rest of your work time and wages take you to perfect".
They (Jews) also declined and left him. So they hired some people (Christians) in addition to their (Jewish), he said: "Take the rest of your day and for you reward that I have promised to them (Jews)".
So when you arrive Asr prayer time, they (the Christians) say, 'Take what we have done for you and also reward you provide to us. "
The man said, "Indeed, during the remaining time is low."
They (the Christians) still refused, so the man was engaged one another people (Muslims) to continue the work that was completed the rest of the day they (the Christians).
Then the people (Muslims) also worked on the rest of the day they (the Christians), namely that the sunset and they got the perfect reward promised to the two previous groups.
Such is the parable of them (Jews and Christians) and the parable of what you (Muslims) receive the light (guidance) is.

Ibn Hajar said the additional 500 years according marfu hadith of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas that the Prophet Muhammad SAW said: Indeed, I hope that my people will not be weak in front of their Lord with resignation (lend) their age for half a day. Then Sa'ad asked people: What is the length of half a day? Sa'ad said: "Five hundred years"

Imam Malik has said will be r.a :

لان يصليها أخري هذه الأمه إلا ما أصلها أولها
Lan yusliha end hazihi ummah illa ma aslaha awwaluha

"There will not ever be recovered will be the end of this ummah but back to the previous way of recovery ummah (the Companions r.a)

The explanation of this hadith according to Al Imam Ibn Hajar Al 'Asqalani: "Experts Naql have agreed that the time (age) of the Jews, since the coming of Moses until the coming of the Prophet Muhammad is more than 2000 years. And age Christians of that amount as much as 600 years. One argument says little more than that "

Al-Qurtubi explained that the Prophet Muhammad said: "Verily the sun and moon will shine again after that, and then rises and sets in humans as usual".
And narrated from 'Abdullah ibn' Amr, of the Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

يبقى الناس بعد طلوع الشمس من مغربها عشرين ومئة سنة

"Humans live on Earth after the sun rises from the west for 120 years".

[Tafsir Al-Qurthubiy (7 / 146-147) and At-Tadzkirah (p. 706).]


It is He, Who gave you life, and then will cause you to die, and will again give you life (on the Day of Resurrection). Verily! Man is indeed an ingrate.

It is He Who gives life, and causes death, and to Him you (all) shall return

Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.
